It is the policy of Wills Tree Services that employees and subcontractors, including others, are protected from risks to health and safety arising from work during our activities so far as is reasonably practicable.
This is achieved with a safety management strategy that includes the provision of safe working systems and appropriate procedures to cater for all significant risks, providing and maintaining safe working environments that are without risks to health, safety and welfare.
Wills Tree Services will comply with current applicable occupational health and safety legislation, including other requirements to which the company subscribes to meet its responsibilities as a company and employer. We will do all that is possible to prevent accidents, injuries and damage to health.
This policy will be supported by company safety rules and general procedures. These will each be subject to review and revision by Chris Wills (company owner/manager), in conjunction with the company’s appointed competent person for health and safety.
The health, safety and welfare policies and arrangements for Wills Tree Services will be publicised to all employees. It is the duty of all employees not only to read these documents carefully but to take an active interest in achieving a high standard of health safety at work.
Chris Wills (company owner/manager), will be at hand to answer and explain any questions or queries that any staff member or subcontractor may have regarding the health and safety policies within the company. In order to ensure that this is achieved, Chris Wills will actively and constantly develop, review and encourage the company health and safety polices both internally and externally by providing the necessary information, instruction and training to employees and subcontractors.
When new substances, machinery, equipment, processes or work sites are introduced, Wills Tree Services will provide adequate guidance, instruction and training to ensure all staff and subcontractors have developed safe working methods and are aware of their own responsibilities. We will ensure that they participate in the prevention of accidents, incidents and fully engage with company policies to prevent related industrial injuries or disease.
Wills Tree Services will provide adequate guidance, instruction and training to ensure all staff and subcontractors work positively and safely with all of our customers, including other stakeholder companies and/or individuals to understand their health and safety needs and meet requirements.
We give all staff working for or on behalf of Wills Tree Services the right to refuse to work where they have any health and safety concerns.
This policy is communicated to all staff and subcontractors and is available publicly via our website: www.willstreeservices.co.uk.
